- 1-1/2 cups Whole red candied cherries
- 3 cups Diced Candied pineapple
- 3 cups All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Shortening
- 1 cup Sugar
- 5 Large Eggs
- 1-1/2 cups Whole green candied cherries
- 1 pound Walnut halves
- 10 ounces Golden raisins
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 3 teaspoons Baking powder
- 4 tablespoons Vanilla extract
Preheat the oven to 300° and combine the nuts and fruits. The shortening and sugar should be mixed in a separate bowl.
Combine the flour, baking powder, and salt with the creamed mixture, and then add eggs and vanilla extract.
Then, pour the mixture over the fruit and nuts and stir well. Then, place the pan in a greased tube pan with a 10-inch diameter.
Approximately two hours is adequate or until a clean toothpick comes out.
Before transferring to a wire rack, allow to cool for 10 minutes. Cut after bringing to room temperature.
