Equipment

  • Baking dish (9x13 inch works best)
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Mixing bowl (optional for butter glaze)
  • Pastry brush or spoon
  • Aluminum foil

Ingredients

  • 12 slider buns Hawaiian rolls or soft dinner rolls
  • 2 cups cooked turkey shredded or sliced
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce homemade or store-bought
  • 6 slices Swiss cheese or cheddar, mozzarella
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Optional but delicious additions:

  • ½ cup stuffing for holiday-style sliders
  • A few fresh rosemary sprigs for aroma

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the buns

  • Slice the slider buns horizontally without separating them individually. Keep the bottom and top halves intact like a sheet—it makes assembly so much easier.

Step 2: Layer the turkey

  • Place the bottom half of the buns in your baking dish. Spread the cooked turkey evenly over the buns. Try to keep it fluffy so every bite has a good texture.

Step 3: Add cranberry sauce

  • Spoon cranberry sauce over the turkey. Don’t overdo it—just enough to create a sweet-tangy layer that complements the savory turkey.

Step 4: Add cheese

  • Lay slices of Swiss or cheddar cheese over the cranberry layer. This helps everything melt together beautifully when baked.

Step 5: Close the sliders

  • Place the top buns over everything gently, pressing slightly so they stick together.

Step 6: Butter glaze

  • Mix melted butter, honey, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, parsley, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Brush this mixture generously over the top buns.

Step 7: Bake

  • Cover with foil and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15 minutes. Then remove foil and bake another 10 minutes until the tops are golden and slightly crisp.

Step 8: Slice and serve

  • Let them rest for 5 minutes, then slice along the bun lines and serve warm.

Notes

  • Don’t skip the butter glaze—it makes a huge difference.
  • Warm turkey slightly before assembling for better melting.
  • Use Hawaiian rolls for a sweet contrast, or brioche for richness.
  • Let sliders rest after baking so they don’t fall apart.
  • Add a thin layer of stuffing if you want a true holiday vibe.
