Ingredients

  • 2 pounds Stew beef
  • 1 tablespoon  Sesame oil
  • 4 Minced garlic cloves
  • 6 tablespoonS Butter
  • ½ cup Honey
  • ½ cup Ketchup
  • ½ cup Soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon  Dried oregano
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Fresh parsley or scallions optional
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch if needed

Instructions

  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the sesame oil. After the oil is hot, add the stew beef and sear until browned on all sides. (You're not cooking the beef through—just giving it a nice golden crust.)
  • Place the browned beef into your slow cooker.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the minced garlic, melted butter, honey, ketchup, soy sauce, and oregano. Whisk until fully blended.
  • The sauce mixture should be poured over the beef in the crockpot. Stir to coat the beef evenly.
  • Cover and cook on low for 4–6 hours, or until the beef is fork-tender. The sauce will darken as it cooks due to the soy sauce.
  • Too Thick? Add ½ cup of water to loosen it. Too Thin? Mix 1 tablespoon of cornstarch with ¼ cup of water, then stir it into the sauce and let it cook for a few more minutes to thicken.
  • Serve the steak bites over rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds for crunch and fresh parsley or scallions for a pop of color.
