For the Filling:
- 8 oz cream cheese softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 6 slices bacon crispy, crumbled
- 2 –3 jalapeños finely chopped, seeds removed for less heat
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and black pepper to taste
For the Dough:
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough or pizza dough sheet
Optional Toppings:
- Extra bacon crumbles
- Chopped parsley
- Ranch drizzle
- Extra shredded cheese
- Hot sauce drizzle
Step 1: Cook the Bacon Properly
Start by cooking the bacon in a skillet over medium heat until it becomes crispy and golden.
Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess grease. Once cooled, crumble into small pieces.
This step is important because crispy bacon adds texture and prevents sogginess in the filling.
Step 2: Prepare the Creamy Filling
In a large mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
Mix until smooth and thick.
Fold in chopped jalapeños and crispy bacon. Stir until everything is evenly distributed.
The filling should be thick, creamy, and slightly chunky.
Step 3: Prepare the Dough Base
Roll out crescent dough on parchment paper.
If using crescent rolls, press seams together to form a single sheet.
Try to create an even rectangular shape for easier rolling.
Step 4: Spread the Filling Evenly
Spread the jalapeño popper mixture over the dough.
Leave a small border around edges so the filling doesn’t spill out while rolling.
Make sure every bite will have equal amounts of cheese, bacon, and jalapeño.
Step 5: Roll It Into a Log
Starting from one edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log.
Keep it firm but gentle to avoid squeezing out the filling.
Seal the edge by pressing lightly.
Step 6: Slice Into Rolls
Using a sharp knife, slice the log into 1–1.5 inch pieces.
Place each slice flat on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Leave space between each roll so they can expand while baking.
Step 7: Bake Until Golden
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20–25 minutes.
You’ll know they’re ready when:
The tops are golden brown
The cheese is bubbling
The edges are slightly crisp
Step 8: Cool Slightly and Serve
Let the rolls rest for 5 minutes before serving.
This helps the filling set so they hold their shape.
Serve warm for the best texture.
- Use room-temperature cream cheese for smooth mixing
- Don’t overfill the dough or it may leak
- Roll tightly for clean slices
- Let bacon drain well to avoid grease buildup
- Bake on parchment to prevent sticking
