- 1 medium-sized onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- ¾ cup water plus ¼ cup water
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- ¼ teaspoon nigella seeds/kalonji
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
- ¼ teaspoon salt to taste
- 2n teaspoon cornflour/cornstarch
- ½ teaspoon lemon juice
You should peel and roughly chop the onion and garlic before blending them. A muslin cloth can be used to squeeze the juice and transfer it to a pan or pot for use.
Preheat the pan. Combine water, sugar, salt, black pepper, and nigella seeds with white vinegar, balsamic vinegar, and vinegar. Sugar must be dissolved in the mixture before it can be served.
Mix cornflour and ¼ cups water in a bowl to make a slurry.
The sauce should thicken and look glossy as it thickens with the cornflour slurry added over medium heat.
Add lemon juice to the pan after the heat has been removed. Bring the sauce to room temperature and stir to mix.
Make sure the container is airtight and store it in the refrigerator. Use it as needed.
