  • 2 tablespoon Granulated sugar
  • 90 gram Butter melted

For the apple pie filling:

  • 8 Large Apples, (peeled).
  • ½ cup  Brown sugar
  • ½ cup  Granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoon Vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • ¼ teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons Cornstarch mixed with a little bit of water
  • ¼ cup  Caramel sauce

For crumble topping:

  • 1 cup Flour
  • ½ teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 90 gram Butter (melted)
  • cup Brown sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoon Cinnamon

Instructions

For making the crust

  • A food processor is necessary for grinding the crackers to fine crumbs. For those who do not have a food processor, you can crush crackers with a cup.
  • Butter, sugar, and graham cracker crumbs should be combined in a small or medium bowl.
  • The crumbs should be coated with butter after mixing with a spoon.
  • Then press the crumbs firmly and evenly into a 9-inch pie pan. The cookies should be baked for 5-7 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit). Let the filling cool while the cake is removed from the oven.

For Making the apple filling

  • Take apple slices, peel them, core them, and slice them medium-thin. In order to make this process quick and easy, I use an apple peeler and corer.
  • In a medium saucepan, heat the apples with the cinnamon, nutmeg, lemon juice, kosher salt, brown sugar, vanilla extract, caramel sauce, granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of water.
  • By using a wooden spatula, combine well and dissolve the sugar. The dish should be simmered on medium-low heat, and covered, for approximately 10 minutes.
  • A soft and tender apple is ideal. The cornstarch plus a little water should be mixed together until no visible lumps of cornstarch. In a mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch mixture with the apple mixture. While the crumble topping is being made, set aside to cool.

For Making the crumble topping

  • Stir flour, sugar, cinnamon, and butter together in a medium mixing bowl. The mixture should be well mixed with a spoon.
  • Place the apple filling on top of the crust and spread it evenly. The crumble topping should be golden brown and the apple mixture bubbly when the crumble topping is topped with the apple filling and baked at 180°C (350°F).
  • Store the pie in the fridge after it has cooled at room temperature for two hours.
