Ingredients

  • ½ cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs
  • 1 (10 oz) Flank Steak
  • Flour
  • 1 Large Egg
  • 1 tablespoon Water
  • 1 tablespoon Grated Parmesan Cheese
  • ¼ teaspoon Salt
  • ¼ teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • Oil For Frying
  • 1 (10-12 inches) Sturdy Italian Bread (Sliced Horizontally)
  • ¼ cup Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
  • cup Marinara Sauce
  • GiardinieraTo Taste

Instructions

  • Place a bit of flour on a clean surface and flip the flank steak a few times to coat both sides. A meat pounder will help you flatten the steak until it is less than 1/4 inch thick and approximately a foot square.
  • A shallow dish should be used to place the egg and water.
  • Combine the bread crumbs, grated parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper in another shallow dish.
  • Cooking oil should be heated to 360 degrees Fahrenheit in a deep skillet.
  • Make sure the flattened steak is fully coated in egg mixture, then dredge it in the seasoned bread crumbs and cheese mixture.
  • The steak should be slid into the hot oil and cooked for about 4 minutes until it turns a light brown color.
  • Place the cooked steak on paper towels and roll it up as soon as possible so that it fits inside the bread.
  • On top of the shredded mozzarella cheese, place the rolled steak inside the sliced Italian bread.
  • Add giardiniera to your taste and warm marinara sauce over the steak.
  • If the sandwich looks different from what you're used to, that's how a breaded steak sandwich should look.
  • You're going to love your homemade Ricobene's Breaded Steak Sandwich!
