Ingredients

  • 1 box chopped spinach
  • 1 bag frozen pizza dough
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese, low-fat
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, low-fat
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1 teaspoon salt and pepper
  • 1 jar marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoon parmesan cheese

Instructions

  • Place the pizza dough on a floured surface and cover it with a dish towel while it thaws and rises.
  • Heat oil in a sauté pan and cook garlic lightly. In a pan, sauté spinach with garlic and oil. Add salt and pepper to taste. When spinach is salted, it loses water. Immediately after the juice has mostly evaporated, remove it from the heat and let it cool.
  • The oven should be preheated to 400 degrees. In a large bowl, combine the ricotta, parmesan, and mozzarella cheese. After that, add the spinach mixture. You should then mix it well.
  • Prepare the pizza dough by rolling it out on a floured surface. Shape it as best you can into a rectangle. The filling should be placed near the end and rolled slowly, tucking in the sides. Use greased foil or a greased pan for easy cleanup.
  • After rolling the Stromboli, brush them with olive oil. It's up to you what seasoning you want to add. You can also add sesame seeds. Parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and oregano were sprinkled on top. Make slits with a knife during cooking to allow steam to escape.
  • Finally, bake the Stromboli at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes, until brown. When completely cool, slice and serve with warm marinara sauce. Enjoy your meal!
