Cuisine American
- 2 – 15 ounce cans Strawberry pie filling
- 8 ounces Cream cheese softened
- 1 Large egg
- ¼ cup Granulated sugar
- 1 Package of vanilla or white cake mix
- ½ cup Salted butter cold
- Fresh strawberries (whole or halved), for serving
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Spread the strawberry filling from both cans evenly across the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a medium bowl, beat together the cream cheese, egg, and granulated sugar until smooth and creamy.
Add spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture to the strawberry filling. Gently spread the cream cheese to create an even layer.
The dry cake mix should be sprinkled evenly over the strawberry and cream cheese layers.
Slice the butter into thin pats and arrange them evenly over the cake mix, covering as much of the surface as possible.
Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown, the center is set, and the strawberry filling is bubbling up around the edges.
Serve warm or cooled, as desired.
